In their defense, I still have the stubby ratchet like that which I bought over 10 yrs ago. It is finally giving up after 10 yrs of being used as a ratchet, a breaker bar, a hammer, etc.
Actually in the market for another stubby 3/8 ratchet now that I’m thinking about it....

Eh, my current one is a cheap Walmart thing I grabbed in a bind. It’s held up longer than any of my Craftsmans, Snap-ons, and Matcos.....
